Lyriq-V unveiled for Australia

Cadillac unveiled the model-year 2027 Lyriq-V in Australia and New Zealand on 18 September 2026, introducing its first all-electric V-Series performance model. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive SUV brings the performance badge to the Lyriq range, with Cadillac calling it the quickest production car it has made. ²

Cadillac lists the Lyriq-V from an indicative $99,000 in Australia, including GST and luxury car tax but excluding on-road costs. Its announcement says the price remains subject to final confirmation at launch and that drive-away costs will vary by market and specification. CarExpert lists the model-year 2027 Lyriq Sport at $90,000 before on-road costs, putting the V’s stated starting price $9000 higher on the same pricing basis. Cadillac says customers can explore the Lyriq-V online or at its Sydney Experience Centre. ²¹

Power, driving modes and chassis

The Lyriq-V’s motors produce a combined 459kW and 880Nm. Cadillac claims a 3.6-second 0–100km/h time with Velocity Max engaged, based on GM testing in controlled conditions in the United States; actual results may vary. Its stated top speed is 210km/h. For comparison within the Australian range, CarExpert reports 384kW, 720Nm and a claimed 4.9-second 0–100km/h time for the model-year 2027 Lyriq Sport. ²¹

A steering-wheel V button accesses performance-focused settings, including Velocity Max, Launch Control and Competitive Mode. Cadillac says Velocity Max provides an on-demand increase in power, Launch Control prepares motor torque delivery for acceleration from rest, and Competitive Mode changes traction-management settings. Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice and a configurable My Mode are also listed. ²

Cadillac specifies a lowered sport suspension with Continuous Damping Control adaptive dampers, continuously variable electric power steering and 22-inch wheels wearing self-sealing 275/40 R22 tyres. The front brakes have red Brembo calipers and 390mm rotors. CarExpert notes that the Lyriq Sport also has Brembo front brakes of that rotor size; the V’s red calipers should not be mistaken for an entirely new braking system. ²¹

Battery, range and charging

A 92kWh battery gives the Lyriq-V an estimated 471km of combined-cycle WLTP range, according to Cadillac. That test figure is not a guarantee of real-world distance. CarExpert reports 503km WLTP for the model-year 2027 Sport, which uses the same updated battery, and lists claimed energy consumption of 21.6kWh/100km for the V against 20.2kWh/100km for the Sport. ²¹

Cadillac specifies DC charging capability of 130kW and three-phase AC charging at 22kW. It says DC charging can add up to 107km of range in 10 minutes, while AC charging can add up to 98km per hour; both figures depend on charging conditions and vehicle settings. CarExpert reports that the model-year 2027 Lyriq’s 130kW DC rate is down from 190kW for the 2025 model, while its 22kW AC rate is unchanged. ²¹

Cabin, technology and safety

V-Series exterior details include revised lower front and rear fascias, body-colour lower trim, unique side rockers and a black-painted roof. Inside, Cadillac specifies Noir Nappa leather seats with Sky Cool Grey accents, V-Series embroidery, a heated V steering wheel, illuminated door sills, sport pedals, 126-colour ambient lighting and an opening panoramic sunroof. CarExpert reports that the Australian Lyriq-V is offered with black interior trim, rather than the Kona Brown option available overseas. ²¹

The equipment list includes a 33-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in functions and a 23-speaker AKG Studio audio system with Dolby Atmos capability. Connected functions are subject to Cadillac’s service, subscription and compatibility conditions. Cadillac has also fitted interior and exterior synthesised sound systems, with a quieter Stealth Mode available. CarExpert lists safety features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition and a surround-view camera. ²¹

Early drive and ownership

In an early Melbourne drive on public roads, CarExpert found the Lyriq-V smooth and quiet in Tour mode but said its 2687kg tare weight was noticeable in tighter manoeuvres and over some suburban road imperfections. The publication reported sharper responses with Velocity Max selected. It did not test Launch Control or Competitive Mode, and its brief drive should not be read as an independent verification of Cadillac’s acceleration claim. ³

CarExpert recorded 4.8km/kWh, approximately 20.83kWh/100km, during a drive mixing suburban streets, freeways and winding roads in Melbourne’s east. That result reflects its particular route and driving conditions, rather than a replacement for the Lyriq-V’s stated WLTP range. ³

Cadillac specifies a five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty and five years of premium roadside assistance. For model-year 2027 Cadillacs, it states service intervals of 24 months or 24,000km, whichever comes first. CarExpert reports that this doubles the previous interval of 12 months or 12,000km. ²¹
