Geely confirms 2027 Australian rollout

Geely Auto Australia has confirmed three new electrified models for its local line-up in 2027: the Monjaro EM-i mid-size SUV, the Emgrand L EM-i medium sedan and the Battleship 700 off-road SUV. The Monjaro EM-i and Emgrand L EM-i are scheduled for the first half of 2027, while the Battleship 700 is due in the second half. Geely’s announcement was tied to the Everything Electric Show in Sydney, where all three models were displayed alongside the brand’s current EX2, EX5 and Starray EM-i models. ¹²³⁴⁷

Monjaro EM-i details and launch offer

Geely describes the Monjaro EM-i as a five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV positioned above the Starray EM-i. For Australia, confirmed details include a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, two electric motors and a battery pack with up to 40kWh capacity. Geely lists up to 170km of WLTP electric driving range and up to 1137km of combined WLTP range, with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants planned and 19-inch and 20-inch wheel options mentioned. Confirmed equipment includes a 15.4-inch touchscreen, a 25.6-inch head-up display, surround-view camera, heated, ventilated and rear seats, plus V2L and V2V capability of up to 6.6kW. Geely has also confirmed Sunlight Gold, Sky Blue, Night Black, Lunar Grey and Cloud White exterior colours, with an optional brown suede-like interior treatment. ¹²³⁴⁵

Geely is offering Monjaro EM-i and Emgrand L EM-i buyers a limited pre-order package for deposits placed before 30 September. Customers who pay a $200 deposit are eligible for a complimentary home charger and premium paint upgrade valued at $600, while Monjaro EM-i buyers also receive a suede-like upholstery upgrade on AWD variants. Emgrand L EM-i and Geely’s sedan return

The Emgrand L EM-i will be Geely’s first sedan in Australia since the factory-backed local relaunch, according to GoAuto and Cars24. Geely says it will use an 18.4kWh battery pack and deliver more than 80km of claimed WLTP electric range, with combined range above 1000km and output above 180kW and 250Nm. GoAuto says the model measures around 4806mm long, 1886mm wide and 1490mm high on a 2756mm wheelbase, and notes it is expected to target the Toyota Camry and BYD Seal 6. Geely has confirmed five exterior colours for the sedan and two upper-trim interior options, including a black-and-brown combination. ²³⁴⁶

Battleship 700 specifications and context

The Battleship 700 is the most extreme of the three confirmations, with Geely positioning it as a five-seat plug-in hybrid off-road SUV and production version of the earlier Galaxy Cruiser concept. Geely’s overseas specification, as reported by GoAuto and 4x4 Australia, pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with three electric motors and all-wheel drive, producing a claimed 830kW. The same coverage reports a 47.14kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, up to around 170km of pure-electric driving, 233mm of ground clearance and an 800mm wading depth. GoAuto also says the model uses an architecture blending monocoque construction with an integrated frame, while 4x4 Australia lists 20-inch wheels, an integrated differential lock and the ‘Waltz’ U-Turn function. GoAuto notes final Australian drivetrain, range and equipment details remain unconfirmed until closer to launch. ²³⁴⁵⁷

GoAuto says the Battleship 700 will arrive in the second half of 2027 and places it in the same broad territory as the Toyota LandCruiser Prado, Ford Everest and GWM Tank 500. The publication also reports that Chinese-market examples received 43,900 pre-orders in the first hour and that Chinese pricing ranges from the equivalent of roughly A$42,000 to more than A$80,000, although those figures are market-specific and do not determine Australian pricing. ²³⁷

What Geely has and has not confirmed

Across the three-model announcement, Geely has confirmed model names, segment positioning and broad timing, but not final Australian pricing for any of them. Geely and the automotive publications reporting the launch have also said final local specifications and more precise launch timing will be confirmed closer to each vehicle’s arrival.
