Subaru Australia is pleased to announce that the Subaru Forester Hybrid AWD has been named a finalist in the Fleet Car of the Year category at the 2026 Fleet News Group Vehicle Awards, with winners to be announced on 14 October 2026.

The recognition highlights the Forester Hybrid AWD’s credentials as an efficient, capable and safety-focused SUV suited to the diverse requirements of Australian fleet operators.

“The Subaru Forester distinguished itself by pairing the brand’s renowned quality, performance and safety credentials with the sustainability benefits of hybrid technology. Underpinning this is Subaru’s strong commitment to fleet customers through a dedicated fleet operation, a well-established dealer network and the reliable servicing and support fleets require throughout the vehicle lifecycle,” said Fleet News Group Managing Editor Marc Sibbald.

Powered by Subaru’s next-generation strong hybrid system, the Forester Hybrid AWD combines a 2.5-litre Boxer engine with a 90kW electric motor to deliver 145kW of total system output.

Together with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 220mm1 of ground clearance and X-Mode, the Forester Hybrid AWD offers the versatility to support a broad range of fleet applications, from metropolitan driving to regional operations and more challenging environments.

With a driving range of more than 1,000km2, improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, advanced safety technologies and support from Subaru Australia’s nationwide retailer network, the Forester Hybrid AWD delivers a strong combination of practicality, efficiency and capability.

“We’re delighted to see the Forester Hybrid AWD recognised as a finalist for Fleet Car of the Year,” said Scott Lawrence, General Manager, Subaru Australia.

“Fleet customers need vehicles that balance safety, efficiency, capability and long-term value. The Forester Hybrid AWD brings these attributes together in a practical hybrid SUV, making it well suited to a wide range of fleet applications across Australia.”

The finalist recognition reflects the Forester Hybrid AWD’s ability to meet the evolving needs of Australian fleet customers, combining hybrid efficiency with Subaru’s all-wheel-drive capability, advanced safety technologies and everyday versatility.
