Savic Motorcycles opens process for buyers and investors

Savic seeks a buyer, investor or partner

Melbourne electric motorcycle manufacturer Savic Motorcycles has opened a strategic transaction process, inviting potential acquirers, investors and industrial partners to approach the business. It is considering an acquisition, strategic investment or industrial partnership rather than announcing a completed transaction. The move follows the C-Series reaching customers and a $2 million funding round completed in late 2025. ¹²

Savic is seeking more than capital. It says a prospective partner could contribute manufacturing capacity, supply-chain capability, technology, distribution or access to international markets. MCNews reports that no buyer or partner has been named, and that Savic has disclosed neither a valuation nor a timetable for completing a deal. AutoTalk Australia says the company has not disclosed a target transaction size, sales volumes or revenue. ¹²

From funding round to transaction process

Australian Road Rider reported in December 2025 that Savic had appointed Marc Alexander chief executive after closing a $2 million strategic funding round. Savic presented that funding as support for increased production capacity and entry into overseas markets, including Europe. At the time, the company said founder Dennis Savic would remain closely involved through its board and work with the executive team on strategic initiatives. ⁴¹

The founder’s position was described differently in September 2026. MCNews reported that Dennis Savic was no longer directly involved in the company, contrasting that position with the strategic board role reported when Alexander was appointed. MCNews did not establish in its September account whether he still held a board seat. ²⁴

Savic, founded in 2016, is presenting the transaction as an opportunity to expand beyond its first commercial motorcycle. The company says it owns technology covering the SM1 powertrain platform, vehicle controls, software, displays, mobile and cloud applications, and industrial design. It says the architecture could support further motorcycles and other electric mobility applications; MCNews reports that no additional production model or launch timetable was announced with the process. ¹²

What Savic has delivered

Savic says customer deliveries of the C-Series began in 2025, a date also reported by MCNews and AutoTalk Australia. Torquecafe’s September 2026 account instead says the company started rolling out motorcycles to Australian customers in 2026. Neither account explains the difference between the two dates, so the start of deliveries should not be treated as settled across the reports. ¹²³

The company says the C-Series completed Australian Design Rules compliance and underwent durability testing at Phillip Island and Lang Lang, with Bosch Australia involved in integrating the anti-lock braking system. MCNews’s 2023 ride was of a prototype, not the customer motorcycle. Its rider praised the prototype’s smooth power delivery and road manners while noting that development was still under way. ¹²

Torquecafe reported in September 2026 that the C-Series electric motor produces up to 80kW and 250Nm, with an Optibelt belt driving the rear wheel. It listed a 16.2kWh lithium-ion NMC battery and Type 2 AC charging at up to 3.3kW. The 220km combined range figure was identified by Torquecafe as Savic’s claim, not a range result from the publication’s test. ³

Torquecafe listed the C-Series from $29,990 before on-road costs in September 2026. That is a starting price, not a drive-away quote; the publication did not identify a location-specific drive-away amount in its account. ³

Production and customer operations

Savic says its West Melbourne site supports engineering, motorcycle production, customer deliveries and test rides. In December 2025, Australian Road Rider described a company-owned powertrain subassembly facility in Taizhou, China, as a plan scheduled to begin operations that month. September 2026 reports from AutoTalk Australia and MCNews describe the Taizhou subassembly operation as established, supplying SM1 powertrain parts and connecting Savic with international EV component supply chains. ¹²⁴

Savic sells directly to customers rather than through motorcycle dealers, handling test rides, configuration, sales and aftersales itself, according to AutoTalk Australia. The publication also reports that Savic has run a pilot with Kangan Institute on electric motorcycle servicing and technician training. Those existing operations form part of the business Savic is putting before prospective transaction partners. ¹
