Subaru adds Trailseeker accessories

Subaru Australia has added a Genuine Subaru Australia Underfloor Spare Wheel Kit and a Genuine Subaru Australia Towbar for the all-new Trailseeker. Subaru’s news listing dated 18 September 2026 identifies the update as part of the Trailseeker’s Australian rollout, and the Trailseeker page says the new accessories are available through authorised Subaru retailers. ¹²

The spare wheel kit is an underfloor space-saver package designed to fit beneath the cargo floor while preserving luggage space and everyday practicality. Subaru says it can be fitted prior to vehicle delivery on new Trailseeker orders, and also fitted to vehicles already on the road. ²

What Subaru says the equipment includes

Subaru says the underfloor spare wheel kit includes a space-saver spare wheel rather than a full-size tyre, and quotes a price of $1,145. Torque Cafe and CarExpert both reported the same $1,145 price, while CarExpert noted that the spare is positioned under the boot floor and is available for both newly ordered vehicles and examples already delivered to customers. Torque Cafe said the kit includes the jack and required tools. ²⁴⁵

The Genuine Subaru Australia Towbar is listed at $1,189.59. Subaru says it can be purchased through Subaru retailers and fitted via the service department to Trailseekers already on the road, and it can also be fitted before delivery if the customer is happy to wait for the estimated December 2026 availability date. Subaru also says towbar availability does not currently extend across the entire Subaru BEV range. ²⁴⁵

Subaru quotes a braked towing capacity of 1,500kg and an unbraked towing capacity of 750kg for the Trailseeker towbar. Torque Cafe and CarExpert repeated those figures in their coverage. ²⁴⁵

Availability and timing

Subaru’s Trailseeker page says pre-orders are open now and that fitments are expected to commence from early December, which is more specific than a general pre-Christmas window. Subaru also says the towbar is expected in December 2026, while Torque Cafe and CarExpert both reported that fitment was scheduled before Christmas 2026. ²⁴⁵

For the towbar, Subaru’s wording makes clear that customers wanting factory fitment before delivery may need to wait until the accessory becomes available. The same page also states that the towbar is not currently available for Solterra or Uncharted, and that Subaru is still exploring future accessory opportunities across its BEV range. ²

Trailseeker context and confirmed specification

The Trailseeker had already been positioned in Australian reporting as Subaru’s all-electric adventure model. Eco Car Guide said Subaru had revealed an Australian arrival in Q2 2026 and described it as a large Sport Electric Vehicle, while Chasing Cars reported the local range at $67,990 for the AWD and $73,990 for the Touring, both before on-road costs. ³⁷

Subaru’s own Trailseeker material quotes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with 280kW, a 74.7kWh CATL battery, 211mm of ground clearance, 150kW DC charging, 22kW AC charging and a claimed driving range of up to 533km for the AWD and up to 488km for the Touring. Eco Car Guide also cited the 280kW output, approximately 4.5-second 0-100km/h claim, 211mm ground clearance and up to 533km range. ²³⁷

CarExpert’s review described the Trailseeker as a large EV with a huge boot and noted that it lacked a spare wheel at the time of review. CarExpert’s model page later showed Sydney-based drive-away estimates of $69,307 to $75,607, which are separate from Subaru’s manufacturer list prices and should be read as a different pricing basis rather than a discrepancy. ⁶⁷
