A factory-backed accessory range for the Stockman

Chery Australia has partnered with Australian-owned 4x4 accessory manufacturer IRONMAN 4X4 to create a full accessory range for the Stockman, built specifically for the ute and orderable direct from Chery dealers alongside the vehicle. The announcement, published by Chery Australia on 20 October 2026, is aimed squarely at Australian ute buyers: Chery Australia chief operating officer Lucas Harris said that no matter how capable the Stockman is, Australian off-roaders still want a bull bar, a lift, a canopy and a roof rack, and this range is how they get that, backed by a trusted Australian brand. ¹

The main engineering adaptation for the Stockman plug-in hybrid is the use of 5052 aluminium alloy across much of the range, which Chery and IRONMAN 4X4 describe as offering a balance of strength, corrosion resistance and low weight. Chery Australia says IRONMAN 4X4 worked closely with the manufacturer to develop the range from its proven existing catalogue. Chris Hole of IRONMAN 4X4 said the partnership gave the company proper under-the-hood access to the Stockman, which is why the company will match Chery's seven-year manufacturer warranty on accessories ordered with the vehicle. ¹

What is in the launch line-up

The launch range spans the usual Australian touring and work accessories. The APEX bull bar is a full-width triple-hoop aluminium bar with a 12,000lb winch cradle, two rated recovery points and a 4mm front skid plate. Premium side rails and steps use steel steps for sill protection, available with or without the side rail and with slip-resistant powder-coated treads. The Raid roof rack is a low-profile aluminium design engineered for strength, reduced wind noise and a vehicle-integrated appearance, with optional light bar mounting. ¹

The Raid canopy comes in solid-door or glass full-aluminium construction with optional central locking, weighs approximately 70kg fitted and is rated at 180kg dynamic and 380kg static roof load, with side storage, dog windows and roof bars among the options. Aluminium roller drawers are offered in a range of heights with in-built fridge slides and close-fitting wing panels. The rear-step tow bar is rated to the Stockman's 3.5-tonne towing capacity and carries integrated rated recovery points, while the IM2.5 suspension delivers a 50mm lift front and rear with spring options for 200kg or 300kg constant load. ¹

Chery Australia states that the entire IRONMAN 4X4 accessory line-up for the Stockman has been engineered and validated to OEM-level requirements, with testing against applicable Australian Design Rules and relevant standards covering structural performance, load capacity, corrosion, water ingress, lighting, durability and vehicle integration. Closely following the initial launch, IRONMAN 4X4 also expects to offer a federally approved gross vehicle mass upgrade including front and rear axle-load upgrades, a forecast the company has not yet confirmed as available. ¹

The vehicle the accessories attach to

The Stockman is Chery Australia's first ute and, per Chery's specification release of 2 October 2026, uses a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel Super Hybrid plug-in hybrid powertrain with combined output of 350kW and 800Nm, all-wheel drive and a 34kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with electric driving range of up to 96km on the WLTP cycle. Braked towing capacity is 3495kg (750kg unbraked), with front, centre and rear differential locks, ground clearance above 247mm, all-terrain tyres and double-wishbone front, leaf-spring rear suspension. An 80-litre fuel tank is fitted. Chery lists a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and 14-speaker audio. ²

4X4 Australia reports that the Stockman is due in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2026 and measures 5450mm long, 2010mm wide and 1890mm tall with a 3250mm wheelbase and a 1560mm x 1560mm cargo tub, and that a petrol-powered variant will join the range in 2027. The publication also notes Australian pricing, model grades and final specifications are yet to be confirmed. Chery has engaged engineering firm Premcar to test and validate the Stockman's ride, handling and driver assistance systems for Australian conditions before launch, following Premcar's work on the D27 Navara. ⁶

Buyers should treat headline figures as preliminary: Motorama Chery, a Queensland dealer, carries a disclaimer that electric driving range, fuel consumption, towing capacity and system output figures are based on preliminary data subject to change pending final specification, testing, certification and regulatory approval, and that local specification may vary. Chery's own specification sheet is the primary source for the figures above. ²⁷

Availability, reservations and delivery timing

Chery's specification announcement states customer deliveries of the Stockman will commence on 1 February 2027. Reservations opened ahead of that arrival: Motorama Chery's model page shows reservations open until 30 November 2026 with a $1,000 reservation fee, and eligible customers who reserve during the pre-launch period receive a $2,000 Bunnings gift card and the first three years of free scheduled servicing, with benefits provided on delivery and subject to Chery's terms and conditions. 4X4 Australia separately reported reservations opening with deliveries set to begin from February 2027. ²⁷⁵

The Stockman will not be the only accessory option available. Utemaster, an Australian canopy and load-lid maker, says it is already developing a Centurion canopy, hard lid options including its Load-Lid and GearForce hard lid, a cantilever roof rack, Mule-Tek panels, and shelving and storage accessories for the Stockman, with product availability and final fitments to be confirmed as development progresses. The IRONMAN 4X4 range is, however, the only line-up so far confirmed as factory-backed and orderable through Chery's dealer network. ⁸¹

Context: the ute segment and Chery's local investment

The Stockman marks Chery Australia's entry into the highly competitive Australian ute segment, which Chery describes as developed for customers seeking towing ability, off-road capability, everyday practicality and electrified performance. The local accessory program and Premcar's validation work sit alongside other Chery investments in Australia, including a parts warehouse in Melbourne holding more than $28 million of inventory with Brisbane and Perth facilities planned by the end of 2026, a dealer network exceeding 85 authorised dealers with a target of more than 100 by the end of 2026, and a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty that carries over to second owners within the period. ²⁶³

The accessory partnership follows a year of steady build-up for the model: Chery revealed its KP31 concept in February 2026 as what it billed as the world's first plug-in hybrid diesel dual-cab ute, ran a public naming vote that produced the Stockman name in June 2026, and confirmed Australian specifications on 2 October 2026, according to 4X4 Australia's Stockman news index. The launch supports Chery Group's broader Australian push, which saw the combined Chery and Omoda Jaecoo brands reach fifth place in May 2026 monthly sales with 6,971 vehicles, per the manufacturer. ⁵⁴
