Lender enters the showroom

Non-bank lender Metro Finance has joined the youX point-of-sale finance platform, giving it direct access to Australian dealership showrooms at scale for the first time. AutoTalk Australia reports that dealers using youX can capture a finance enquiry, return an indicative quote, compare different finance structures and send the application straight to Metro for a decision while the customer is still at the dealership. 1

GoAutoNews Premium, which also reported the partnership, describes it as embedding Metro within the youX platform to connect the customer, dealership and lender in one streamlined car-funding journey, with applications routed directly to Metro for the approvals process. GoAutoNews Premium reported the partnership is expected to go live in October, with an initial rollout across selected dealership locations before wider release; AutoTalk Australia similarly reports the integration goes live this month at selected dealerships. 12

'Speed is what wins the deal'

youX chief commercial officer Matt Perry, appointed in November 2025, says the platform is built to cut the time between a customer's enquiry and a finance answer. "Speed is what wins the deal in a showroom. Quote, compare and submit all happen in one flow, so the business manager can give a customer a real answer in minutes rather than chasing one after they have left," Perry says, as quoted by AutoTalk Australia. He adds that a dealer can put several structures — ownership, upgrade and cash flow — in front of a customer in the same conversation. 12

youX chief executive Simon Penhaligon said the partnership reflects the company's broader vision for a more connected automotive finance ecosystem. "Customers expect things to be simple and fast, and dealers and lenders need technology that helps them deliver that," he said in a statement quoted by GoAutoNews Premium. youX states its platform has processed more than 1.2 million applications and draws on more than $6.5 billion in annual asset finance data, giving dealers visibility of conversion, channel performance and finance penetration. Chery Australia appointed youX as its finance technology and fulfilment partner in 2023. 12

Metro's multi-channel push

Established in 2011, Metro says it has written more than $14 billion in loans for over 120,000 customers through its national network of introducer partners, offering commercial asset finance, consumer car finance, novated leasing and sustainable finance. Metro chief executive David Albest says the introducer network remains central to the business and that the move into dealer finance is "the next step in building a broader multi-channel distribution model". 12

The lender's scale supports the expansion. Broker Daily reported in July 2026 that Metro surpassed $6 billion in loan book value for the 2026 financial year, and that Metro was named the top asset and equipment finance lender in Agile Market Intelligence's Third-Party Lending Report for commercial lending. Broker Daily noted the lender had provided more than $10 billion in lending since launching in 2011. In September 2026, GoAutoNews Premium reported Metro priced its largest-ever asset-backed securities transaction at $1.2 billion, upsized from $750 million, taking total lifetime issuance past $9 billion. Albest said at the time that the deal "strengthens our recent expansion into dealer finance". 48

Building the dealer team

The youX integration caps a year of preparation for Metro's dealer channel. GoAutoNews Premium reported in August 2026 that Metro appointed Robert Foster and Wayne Gibson as business development managers for New South Wales and Queensland respectively, following Dane Drayton's appointment as head of dealer earlier in the year. The three presented an early preview of the dealer proposition at the AADA Convention, and Metro said at the time it expected to appoint a Victorian dealer BDM in the coming months. 5

In September 2026, GoAutoNews Premium reported Metro hired Francis Almeida, a finance veteran with more than 35 years' experience, as BDM for its dealer division covering Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. He joined from Angle Auto Finance, with prior roles at Berwick Mazda and Toyota Finance Australia. Metro's own dealer page lists Almeida as BDM for VIC, TAS and SA alongside Drayton as head of dealer, who joined in March 2026 after senior roles at Esanda, Macquarie Leasing and Nissan. 93

How the dealer channel works

Metro's dealer page says the dedicated channel will support consumer loans, commercial finance agreements and finance leases, covering personal customers, sole traders, businesses and fleets purchasing through a dealership. Applications will be submitted through the youX platform and flow directly into Metro via its MetroConnect integration, with no separate portal login required. Metro says a dedicated sales, credit and operations team will support dealers from application through to settlement. 31

Metro states on its dealer page that it is planning a phased rollout starting with select dealer partners, and that full service-level details for assessment turnaround times will be confirmed at launch. The company separately notes on its commercial finance page that many loans are approved within 24 to 48 hours, while its new car loan products span terms of one to seven years with borrowing from $5,000 to $250,000. The wider rollout timetable for the youX integration has not been detailed beyond the initial selected-dealership phase. 36712
