The DriveAgent guide

Our assessment

DriveAgent research synthesis, not a first-hand road test. Driving impressions are attributed to their original reviewers; manufacturer claims and overseas observations are identified separately.

Researching the Australian D27 PRO-4X

This unscored guide combines Ben Zachariah’s Australian launch drive for CarExpert with Nissan’s exact MY26 PRO-4X specifications. DriveAgent has not driven the ute. Its production interval is unverified, so build-dependent safety applicability remains withheld.

Suspension tuning with limits

Zachariah credits the PRO-4X with improved ride and cornering behaviour compared with the related Triton. He still describes movement through the ladder-frame body after bigger bumps. These are attributed launch-drive findings.

Cabin controls and warnings

Zachariah welcomes the physical climate-control buttons and readable display, but finds the car’s attention warnings quick to intervene. Check control usability and alert settings during a personal test drive.

Figures for this grade

Nissan rates the single diesel engine at 150kW peak output at 3500rpm. Its PRO-4X sheet lists 1930mm width excluding mirrors and 2226kg unladen kerb mass with a full fuel tank and no accessories. These are manufacturer declarations.

Read the towing qualifications

Nissan declares a maximum 3500kg braked towing capacity, subject to the fitted towbar, vehicle load, accessories and equipment limits. Do not assume maximum payload remains available at maximum towing.
