GWM Haval H7 dealer pricing surfaces ahead of 2 November launch, hybrid from $46,990 drive-away

Dealer-issued pricing for the boxy second-generation GWM Haval H7 has been reported by CarExpert, with four hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants positioned against the Toyota RAV4 — but GWM Australia says its official pricing announcement is still to come.

Dealer pricing reported, official figures still pending

Pricing for the new-generation GWM Haval H7 has been issued to Australian dealers ahead of its scheduled 2 November 2026 launch, according to CarExpert, with a promotional starting price of $45,990 drive-away for the entry Lux hybrid. The $45,990 figure reflects a $1000 offer running until 30 November 2026; the underlying drive-away price for the H7 Lux AWD HEV is reported at $46,990, rising to $50,990 for the Lux PHEV, $49,990 for the Vanta HEV and $53,990 for the Vanta PHEV after the offer period. 1

GWM Australia has not yet officially announced pricing for the second-generation H7. Responding to the dealer figures, the company told CarExpert: "The all-new GWM Haval H7 has just started to arrive at dealers for customers to test drive, with competitive pricing across the hybrid and PHEV range to be announced shortly." CarExpert reports the official announcement is imminent, with dealer stock arriving and order books open. 1

The reported entry drive-away price lands close to the cheapest Toyota RAV4, though the two figures sit on different bases. CarExpert compares the H7's $45,990 promotional drive-away price with the entry RAV4 GX 2WD hybrid, which starts at $45,990 before on-road costs — a list price rather than a drive-away amount. The comparison figures for the RAV4 PHEV XSE 2WD ($58,840) and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ES AWD ($58,990) are likewise before on-road costs. 1

Earlier, GWM Australia had confirmed only that the new H7 would start below $50,000 drive-away, with final pricing and specification to be announced closer to launch, as reported by CarExpert in September 2026. 3

Hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, all with Hi4 all-wheel drive

The new H7 will be offered in Australia in Lux and Vanta grades, each available as a hybrid (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and every version comes exclusively with GWM's Hi4 all-wheel drive system — a departure from the front-wheel drive-only Haval H6 and the previous-generation H7. Braked towing capacity is 1500kg across the lineup. 12

Both powertrains use a 110kW turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. According to GWM's figures cited by CarExpert, the HEV produces combined system outputs of 182kW and 670Nm with a 1.53kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and claimed fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km; GoAuto separately quotes the HEV at 182kW and 540Nm. The PHEV steps up to 320kW and 670Nm with a 33.7kWh ternary lithium battery, a claimed 137km electric-only range and 844km combined range on the WLTC cycle, cutting the claimed 0–100km/h time from 7.0 to 4.9 seconds. These are WLTC claims, not Australian test results. 16

GoAuto adds that the PHEV offers 6kW vehicle-to-load capability, and that unlike GWM's Hi4-T plug-in hybrids in body-on-frame models such as the Tank 300, Tank 500 and Cannon Alpha, the H7 is a monocoque SUV with MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension, sharing its architecture with the H6. 6

In China, where the model has been sold as the Haval Menglong/Raptor since 2023, it is offered with crawl control, a tank-turn function and an electronically locking mechanical dog-clutch rear differential, but GWM has not said which of these will reach Australia, GoAuto reports. GWM has previously said flagship variants would offer front and rear differential locking. 63

The Vanta grade's reported standard equipment includes a locking rear differential, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and ambient lighting, per the dealer pricing reported by CarExpert. The Lux adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a 15.6-inch centre touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display and automatic parking assist; Hamilton White paint is included, with grey, black and green finishes costing an additional $595. GoAuto also reports a full-size spare wheel, eight drive modes and a 4x4 Expert Mode across the range. 16

Dimensions, seating and the seven-seat plan

The initial Australian lineup consists exclusively of short-wheelbase, five-seat models. The standard-length H7 measures 4800mm long, 1950mm wide and 1843mm tall on a 2738mm wheelbase, with an external spare wheel carrier lifting overall length to around 4800mm — slightly shorter but wider and taller than the outgoing model at 4705/1908/1780mm on a 2810mm wheelbase, according to GoAuto. 63

GWM Australia has confirmed a seven-seat, extended-length variant will join the lineup in 2027, on a 2850mm wheelbase. In Chinese form it measures 4912mm long — longer than a Kia Sorento at 4815mm — and will give GWM a seven-seat option below the large Tank 500, which starts at $65,990 drive-away, CarExpert and GoAuto report. 136

Inside, the 15.6-inch touchscreen runs GWM's Coffee OS with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera includes a transparent view, GoAuto reports. 6

Record pre-launch interest and first deliveries

GWM Australia says the new H7 has attracted more pre-launch interest than any previous GWM model, with more than 1500 expressions of interest in just over three weeks since its local debut at the Everything Electric show in Sydney in September. First customer deliveries were expected within weeks, with the official launch scheduled for 2 November 2026. GWM also reports that H7 webpage visits have quadrupled compared with the outgoing model and that a walk-around video drew more than 90,000 views in a week, with queues forming at a pop-up display at Melbourne's Chadstone Shopping Centre. 625

GWM Australia head of marketing and communications Steve Maciver said in a statement: "We have high expectations for the all-new Haval H7, and the level of early interest shown from prospective buyers across Australia demonstrates that GWM looks to have the formula just right with this new model." He said offering new models "with the right technology at the right price" would help GWM move closer to its ambition of becoming a top-five brand, crediting "18 years of listening, learning, innovating and localising" in Australia. 26

The interest figures are company statements rather than independently verified sales results. They stand against modest history for the outgoing H7: CarExpert reports 837 sales of the previous model in the first nine months of 2026, following 450 sales in 2025 after its July 2025 arrival, and GoAuto counts 744 national deliveries to the end of August. GWM Australia is currently ranked seventh overall with sales growth of 14.3 per cent and is targeting a top-five sales position. 16

The H7 is one of nine new or substantially updated GWM models due in the second half of 2026, including the Cannon Hi4-T PHEV, 3.0-litre diesel versions of the Cannon Alpha and Tank 500, the Jolion Max, additional Ora EVs and the introduction of the premium Wey brand, GoAuto reports. 6

What it replaces and how it sits in the range

The second-generation H7 is not an update of the vehicle that introduced the nameplate to Australia in 2025. That outgoing model was a front-wheel drive Vanta Hybrid priced at $46,990 drive-away with 179kW and 530Nm, and as GoAuto notes, it is on borrowed time just over a year after arriving. The new model instead derives from the boxy Menglong/Raptor sold in China since 2023, with squared wheel arches, a near-vertical tail and slab sides. 64

Within the current Haval range, the cheapest H6 Hybrid starts at $40,990 drive-away and the cheapest H6 PHEV at $44,990 drive-away, with all-wheel drive versions from $47,490 and $50,990 respectively — context figures cited by CarExpert when the new H7 was confirmed for an October 2026 on-sale. The new H7 joins the sleeker H6 and H6 GT in GWM's mid-size SUV lineup, with the Haval Jolion Max also due soon. 236
