Zeekr 7GT due for Australian launch in late 2026, deliveries in early 2027

Zeekr Australia has set a fourth-quarter 2026 launch for its 7GT electric sports wagon, with first customer deliveries due in the first quarter of 2027. That places the launch between October and December, and deliveries between January and March. The five-door wagon will join the X and 7X electric SUVs and the 009 electric people mover in Zeekr’s local range. ¹²

Zecar reports that expressions of interest are open now and that Zeekr expects to open first customer orders in late 2026. The publication says full pricing and availability details are due by the fourth quarter. Neither the planned order opening nor the delivery schedule means customer handovers have begun. ²

Three powertrains and their stated ranges

Zeekr has named three Australian grades: RWD, Long Range RWD and Performance AWD. The two single-motor, rear-wheel-drive versions are listed at 335kW and 520Nm. The RWD pairs a 75kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with a stated 525km WLTP range and a quoted 5.2-second 0–100km/h time. The Long Range RWD uses a 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery; its published figures are 670km WLTP and 5.0 seconds. ¹²

The dual-motor Performance AWD is listed at 500kW and 790Nm, with a 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery, 590km of stated WLTP range and a quoted 3.1-second 0–100km/h time. It has 20-inch forged wheels, orange brake callipers and active air suspension with continuous damping control. Both rear-drive grades have 19-inch wheels. The range and acceleration figures are published specifications, not results from an Australian road test. ¹²

Australian versions are described as using an 800V electrical system rather than the newer 900V system launched in China. Zeekr claims a 10–80 per cent DC charge takes 11 minutes in the RWD and 15 minutes in either 100kWh variant. The Long Range RWD and Performance AWD are listed as accepting up to 420kW DC charging; those peak rates and charge times are claims, not a measure of what every charger will deliver. ¹²

The Australian-market figures differ from the European figures CarExpert cited in August, before the local details were published. That earlier account listed 310kW for European rear-drive cars and 475kW for the European AWD model, with WLTP ranges of 519km, 655km and 558km respectively. They describe European versions, not a conflicting set of current Australian specifications. ³¹

Cabin, cargo and safety

The 7GT measures 4817mm long, 1910mm wide and 1456mm high, on a 2900mm wheelbase. Rear cargo capacity is listed at 456 litres with the seats up and 1390 litres with the rear seatbacks folded. A power tailgate and panoramic glass roof are listed as standard; the exterior also features matrix LED headlights and a full-width rear light bar. ¹²

Published cabin equipment includes a 15.4-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 13-inch instrument display, a 35.5-inch augmented-reality head-up display and two 50W wireless phone chargers. Heated, ventilated and massaging front seats and heated, power-adjustable rear seats are also described. Zecar says a full Australian specification breakdown has not yet been released, so these details should not be read as a final grade-by-grade equipment list. ¹²

CarExpert lists adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assistance among the standard driver aids, alongside automated and remote parking functions. The 7GT has received a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Zecar reports scores of 93 per cent for crash protection, 95 per cent for post-crash safety, 89 per cent for crash avoidance and 79 per cent for safe driving. ¹²

Price and ownership

Zeekr has not announced Australian 7GT prices. Zecar says the brand indicated at Everything Electric Sydney that the wagon is expected to be priced between the X and 7X SUVs. Zecar’s own unconfirmed estimates put the RWD at $51,500–$55,500, the Long Range RWD at $58,500–$63,000 and the Performance AWD at $63,000–$68,000 before on-road costs. These are the publication’s estimates, not manufacturer list prices or confirmed offers. ¹²

Zeekr says the 7GT will have a five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty and five years of roadside assistance. Zecar notes that the vehicle warranty is subject to Zeekr’s approved maintenance schedule. Zeekr is also targeting more than 25 Australian dealer locations by the end of 2026; that figure is an expansion target, not a current network count. ¹²

What an early drive established

CarExpert’s earlier 7GT drive took place on a New Zealand circuit and at a snow-and-ice facility, rather than on public roads. Its reviewer found progressive acceleration and a responsive chassis, but reported understeer when pushing hard. The limited test did not establish how the wagon rides on ordinary roads, and its impressions should not be treated as a road test of the final Australian range. ⁴

CarExpert’s August specification and driving reports drew substantially on European-market cars while Australian details were still emerging. The subsequently published local variant names, outputs and range figures give a more relevant basis for describing the Australian lineup.
