First accessories group lands for the full local line-up

GAC Australia has begun rolling out its first formal accessories and merchandise program, with the first group of items launched from the end of September into October. Speaking exclusively with GoAuto, the brand's local director of aftersales Andrew Ratajczak said the range targets every model in the current Australian line-up – four vehicles at the time of the interview – spanning lifestyle items through to merchandise. He noted that much of the stock is still arriving, with GAC wanting to ensure enough inventory is on hand so customers can purchase items without long waits. 16

GoAuto reports that the Australian public got a first look at parts of the range at the recent Everything Electric show in Sydney, where GAC displayed a body kit for its electric Aion UT hatchback, a body skirt kit for the electric Aion V SUV, and an inflatable double bed designed to fit the Aion V's interior. 16

Aion V pitched as a 'soft camp' platform

The camping-focused side of the range centres on the Aion V electric SUV. According to Mr Ratajczak, the V supports a 'soft camp' experience rather than off-roading: an inflatable double bed arrives this month at $188.67, while a tent priced at $1018.15 and roof bars at $184.69 are both listed as launching in December. He told GoAuto that owners heading to a beach or caravan park can combine the bed, a tent and an awning, and plug electric goods in via the vehicle's V2L output, forming what he described as a small camp outfit. 16

Body kits for buyers who like to modify

Styling accessories are also part of the rollout. GoAuto reports that a spoiler is priced at $503.93 and a four-piece body kit at $1159.08 for the Aion UT, while a body skirt set for the Aion V is priced at $1209.48 and arrives this month. Mr Ratajczak said the body kits shown at the Everything Electric show 'spice up the look of the car' and allow owners to customise their vehicles, appealing to enthusiasts with a taste for modifications. 16

Quality and safety vetting has shaped what reaches the market. Mr Ratajczak told GoAuto that accessories are qualified to make sure they are suitable for Australian customers, that safety and quality must be satisfied 'right before we even put it to market', and that some prospective items have been rejected because they did not tick the box on those criteria. 16

Dealer-supplied or DIY, with robots on the list

Purchase and fitment are flexible. According to Mr Ratajczak, accessories can be bought from GAC dealerships at any point during ownership, either over the counter for owner installation or dealer-fitted at the time of the vehicle purchase. 16

GoAuto notes that genuine accessories and merchandise programs are not uncommon in the Australian automotive industry, but GAC's offering extends into unusual territory: humanoid and dog robots are available alongside traditional merchandise through its dealerships, along with robotic machinery including coffee machines. Mr Ratajczak described the robots as 'probably something of a next step' that he would love to have in GAC showrooms in the future. GoAuto also reports the program has been concentrated on the Aion UT, Aion V and Emzoom, with less focus on the M8 PHEV because that model is already highly specified and the emphasis fell on the brand's volume sellers. 16

Context: a young brand building out its local ecosystem

The accessories push sits within GAC's broader Australian launch. At a Sydney event in November 2025, GAC formally announced its 'GAC: Growing Australian Confidence' local strategy under the One GAC 2.0 global plan, debuting the Aion V, the M8 PHEV and the Emzoom, with plans for more than ten additional models across sedans, SUVs, pickups and MPVs over five years. The manufacturer also committed at that time to expanding from nine initial sales and service outlets to more than 100 dealerships over five years, building local parts warehousing and technical training centres, and rolling out its GAC Care service model including a seven-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year/200,000km battery warranty. 5234

The dealer network through which the accessories will be sold is now taking shape in person. GAC Southport in Ashmore, Queensland, advertises GAC Genuine Parts and Accessories from a comprehensive range alongside the Aion V, M8 PHEV and Emzoom, while Alan Mance Motors lists the full four-model GAC range – Emzoom, M8 PHEV, Aion UT and Aion V – as in stock at its GAC Footscray dealership in Melbourne, with current drive-away offers running through the December quarter. 78
