The biography

The Devonport-born racer became a leading touring-car driver at Dick Johnson Racing. Two Bathurst victories with Johnson and a championship of his own mark that partnership.

A partnership that crossed eras

Bowe’s years with Johnson spanned two very different kinds of Ford: the turbocharged Sierra and the five-litre Falcon. Their second Bathurst victory came in 1994, after the Sandown win that same year.

The yellow Shell-FAI EB Falcon connects the shared-drive achievement to Bowe’s individual championship. The 1994 Bathurst-winning chassis was also the car he used throughout his title-winning 1995 season.

More than a supporting role

The championship established Bowe’s own place among the leading drivers of the period. He remained a consistent Falcon contender through the 1990s before continuing with other teams.

His long career also extended beyond Supercars into other touring-car competition. Those results are not added to the championship total shown here: this profile distinguishes the 1995 ATCC crown from success in other categories.
