Jeep Avenger passes 300,000 orders as Stellantis positions it for the run at the Renegade record

Stellantis says the Europe-built Jeep Avenger, the 2023 European Car of the Year, has reached 300,000 orders since its 2023 launch, progressing towards the Renegade's 610,000-unit lifetime benchmark on the same market perimeter.

A 300,000-order milestone, announced by Stellantis

Stellantis has announced that the Jeep Avenger, launched in 2023, has reached 300,000 orders, cementing its position as Europe's number-one Jeep. The company says the small SUV is sold in more than 70 markets globally and is a leader in the B-SUV segment across all major European countries. Electrified versions account for about 60 per cent of the total, according to the manufacturer. 1

Stellantis frames the achievement as a step towards the record of 610,000 units set by the Jeep Renegade over that model's entire lifecycle, measured on the same market perimeter. The Avenger was designed and built in Europe and is the most compact vehicle in the Jeep line-up at just over four metres long. Separately, CarExpert notes the original Renegade was built in Italy, launched in 2014, and sold 610,000 examples during its decade-long European life. 19

Independent reporting corroborates the headline figure: Car and Driver Greece reports the 300,000-order milestone and the 610,000-unit Renegade comparison, while Italian outlets Autotecnica and SmartWorld both covered the announcement on the day it was published by the manufacturer. 678

Italy drives the result

The strongest regional evidence is Italian. According to Stellantis, citing processing by Dataforce, the Avenger is the best-selling SUV in Italy and the second-best-selling model overall across all segments and powertrains for the first nine months of 2026, with a 2.57 per cent market share. In September alone, it was the top-selling vehicle among all SUVs and powertrains with a share above 5 per cent, and it holds a 10.27 per cent share of the B-SUV segment for January–September, rising to 10.92 per cent in September. 2

Autotecnica reports the same Italian picture, describing the Avenger as Italy's best-selling SUV in 2026 and the second-ranked model overall in the first nine months of the year at 2.57 per cent. The Italian trade outlet characterises the milestone as confirmation that the Avenger has moved from being a gamble to one of the pillars of Jeep in Europe. 7

What the updated Avenger offers

The announcement follows a substantial May 2026 update. Jeep says the refreshed Avenger brings new bumpers, redesigned 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, LED-backlit seven-slot grille, and interior changes including softer door-panel material and a padded lower-dash insert. New Forest and Bamboo colours join the palette, and a new 85th Anniversary Special Edition adds gold-finish bumpers and wheels, tartan hood decal and badged interior details. LED matrix headlights and a front camera providing a digitally reconstructed 360-degree top view are also new, alongside a Selec-Terrain drive-mode selector standard on all trims including front-wheel-drive versions. 5

The powertrain range was widened with a new Turbo 100 petrol engine: a 1,199cc three-cylinder producing 101hp (74kW) at 5,500rpm and 205Nm from 1,750rpm, paired with a six-speed manual. Jeep says the engine uses 350-bar direct injection, Miller-cycle operation and a timing chain, and was subjected to more than 30,000 hours of bench testing during development; service intervals extend to every two years or 15,500 miles (25,000km in the European specification quoted by Stellantis), up from every year or 12,500 miles. 45

Electrified options remain central to the line-up. The 110hp e-Hybrid pairs a variable-geometry turbo and Miller-cycle engine with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox integrating an electric motor and a 48V/0.9kWh lithium-ion battery, offering up to 1km of electric-only running below 30km/h. The all-wheel-drive 145hp 4xe uses an electrified dual-clutch transmission, front combustion engine and rear electric motor delivering up to 1,900Nm to the rear wheels, with Jeep claiming 40 per cent slopes on gravel and 20 per cent when the front axle has no grip. 45

The 156hp battery-electric version has a 54kWh gross battery capacity, up to 100kW DC and 11kW AC charging, and a WLTP range of up to 248 miles, which Stellantis quotes elsewhere as up to 400km. Jeep also quotes off-road angles of up to 22 degrees approach, 21 degrees breakover and 35 degrees departure, with ground clearance of up to 210mm, and a boot of up to 380 litres. 45

Front-wheel-drive trims are Longitude, Altitude and Summit, plus the 85th Anniversary Special Edition; the 4xe adds Upland and Overland grades. Standard equipment on all versions includes full-LED front lights, automatic high beam, keyless start, cruise control and automatic air conditioning, with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen running wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with over-the-air updates. 45

Order momentum and the May-to-October trajectory

The May 2026 launch release put cumulative orders at over 270,000, still with 60 per cent electrified. Jeep says orders for the updated Avenger opened in May, and by September 2026, when the model's new advertising campaign debuted, the figure stood at more than 290,000. The 300,000 mark announced on 20 October 2026 therefore represents roughly 30,000 additional orders in the five months since the update was revealed and orders opened. 431

Car and Driver Greece adds historical context to that trajectory: after being unveiled at the 2022 Paris motor show, the Avenger recorded 10,000 pre-orders within a month of launch and passed 40,000 in under a year, and reached 100,000 sales by the middle of 2024, before the all-wheel-drive version had even launched. The publication also notes the updated Avenger began sales in Greece in recent days, with front-wheel-drive versions priced from €21,990 by the local importer. 6

Awards pedigree and what comes next

The Avenger's track record includes a major accolade: Stellantis describes the model as the 2023 European Car of the Year, a title Car and Driver Greece also cites when recounting the small SUV's rise from its Paris debut to the current order milestone. 56

In Europe, Jeep has signalled a broader future built around the Avenger's segment. CarExpert reports that at the 2026 Paris motor show Jeep confirmed it will relaunch the Renegade before the end of the decade, sized to fit between the 4.08-metre Avenger and the 4.55-metre Compass, with Jeep's European line-up currently consisting of the Avenger and Compass and, in some countries, the Wrangler. Jeep also flagged plans to expand its European range to up to six models by 2030, including the Recon EV and a large SUV developed with Chinese partner Dongfeng, and is investigating a possible revival of the Willys nameplate beyond 2030 as an affordable electric model, though that vehicle has not been officially confirmed. 9

The Australian angle

The order milestone is a European figure and should not be read as Australian sales performance. CarExpert reports that Jeep's Australian line-up comprises the Avenger, Wrangler and Gladiator, so the Avenger is on sale locally, but no Australian order or delivery figures appear in this announcement. 9
